Who is the best businessman of all time?

Adam D'Angelo, Founder and CEO of Quora.

Youthful, extremely keen, doesn't mind others' opinion about him (I'm speculating this from his haircut!), in fact splendid.

“A small team of A+ players can run circles around a giant team of B and C players” Steve Jobs

What's more, Adam is living confirmation of it.

He's applied Lean Startup standards as far as possible, been totally centered around building an incredible item, centered around what's significant. Exclusive focus.

Likewise, I sense Quora's Be Nice Be Respectful strategy comes from him being a pleasant, conscious individual himself…

What is the best thing you came across on the internet today?

I was scrolling Twitter, when I came across a very interesting reply to an Elon Musk Tweet™. Here’s a bit of the backstory -

There was this guy, Lyubomir Vladimirov who had been replying to Elon’s tweets, just to take his permission for using his and SpaceX’s name and logos in a game about colonizing Mars he’s developing.

This was his first tweet, way back on 4th of May, 2020.

This was the 2nd one.

And this went on….

and on….

aaaand on….

Past the 100 day mark, still no response from Mr. Musk.

Elon’s meme game is pretty strong.

Into the new year…

Here we reach the 150 mark.

And finally, after 154 long days, on January 13th, 2021, Lyubomir Vladimirov gets the following reply from Elon Musk,

“You can steal our name/logos & we probably won’t sue you”.

And this is how Lyubomir responded -

In case you didn’t get the reference -

Internet really won the day! :D

What are some mind blowing facts about the internet?

  1. There is a website that makes everything okay
  2. The content of the web in 1993 was just 400 terabytes. It is now 1.5 zettabytes, or one-and-a-half trillion gigabytes
  3. Do you know what Gmail is? Or who it originally belonged to? Garfield, that fat orange cat who loves lasagne. Gmail was used by Garfield fans to talk amongst themselves and Google bought the name from Garfield.com, most likely paying with Italian delicacies
  4. The deep web is not to be mistaken for the dark web, a part of the internet that has some pretty effed-up stuff on it. The deep web is at least 500 times larger than the “surface Web” that consists of web pages indexed by popular search engines like Google or Yahoo. The dark web is used to sell things on the black market such as weapons, drugs and even hitman contracts
  5. Speaking of which, the first thing ever to be bought via the internet was a bag of marijuana in 1971
  6. Potatoes absorb wifi radio signals similar to the way that the human body does, meaning airlines were able to test whether or not it was a possibility with sacks of spuds as substitutes. The crew probably got hash browns with their raise, too
  7. Roughly 2,300,000 Gigabytes (2.3 petabytes) of data traffic has been distributed across the internet since you started reading this answer. That’s roughly the same as the estimated storage capacity of the human brain.
  8. From July 2005 to July 2006, Canadian blogger Kyle MacDonald bargained his way from a single paperclip to a house in a series of fourteen online trades in scarcely under a year. This incredible series of transactions included trading a movie role for a two-story farmhouse. Gordon Miller, you have a competitor!

Jeff Bezos steps down as CEO of Amazon! Here’s what he said to his employees

Jeff Bezos steps down as CEO of Amazon! Here’s what he said to his employees:
“This journey began some 27 years ago. Amazon was only an idea, and it had no name. The question I was asked most frequently at that time was, “What’s the internet?” Blessedly, I haven’t had to explain that in a long while.
Today, we employ 1.3 million talented, dedicated people, serve hundreds of millions of customers and businesses, and are widely recognized as one of the most successful companies in the world.
How did that happen? Invention. Invention is the root of our success. We’ve done crazy things together, and then made them normal. We pioneered customer reviews, 1-Click, personalized recommendations, Prime’s insanely-fast shipping, Just Walk Out shopping, the Climate Pledge, Kindle, Alexa, marketplace, infrastructure cloud computing, Career Choice, and much more.
If you get it right, a few years after a surprising invention, the new thing has become normal. People yawn. And that yawn is the greatest compliment an inventor can receive.
Keep inventing, and don’t despair when at first the idea looks crazy. Remember to wander. Let curiosity be your compass. It remains Day 1.
Jeff”
Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder, will step down as CEO this summer and transition into the role of executive chairman.
Andy Jassy, the chief executive of Amazon’s cloud computing division, will be promoted to run the entire company. The change will be effective in the third quarter, which starts in July
